Burps, Bottoms and Bile Celebration

Firstly, thank you all for coming and supporting the children.

They have really enjoyed this topic and I think that came through when they were teaching you about the digestive system.

Growth Mindset

The children were asked to do a scientific drawing of a butterfly. They then discussed it using phrases to encourage them to be more accurate.

 The difference before and after.

There was a lot of positive encouragement. 'Look at the wings they sweep across', 'Look at the wings they have jaggy bits on', 'The bottom wing looks like a triangle and it is joined onto the body here'.

Roman food

The Romans would have been able to make food quickly using flour, milk and an egg, then cooked it on a hot stone by a fire. If the soldiers were lucky they also had some honey.

The children made a mix and then cooked it in a hot frying pan.

They all enjoyed them!

Roman maths

The class have been playing snakes and ladders Roman style. Trying to say the numbers as a Roman would. It is harder than you think!
